The concept of super austenitic stainless steel emerged together with super ferritic stainless steel and super duplex stainless steel. Typical examples are super austenitic stainless steels containing 6% and 7% molybdenum. These steels were developed for industries with severe working conditions, such as petrochemical, chemical, paper and offshore systems, etc.
254SMO
Super 254SMo stainless steel is a highly corrosion resistant super austenitic stainless steel developed for environments containing halides and acids. It is widely used in harsh working environments such as high concentration chloride ion media and seawater. In various industrial applications with acidic media, especially in acids containing halides, 254SMO is far superior to other stainless steels and in some cases comparable to Hastelloy and titanium. Low carbon content, high molybdenum content, good resistance to pitting and interstitial corrosion, excellent intergranular corrosion properties, is a cost-effective stainless steel, widely used in domestic and foreign chemical industry, desulfurization and environmental protection. (Mainly used in boilers, pressure vessels, offshore drilling equipment, pharmaceutical industry, etc.)

904L
904L is a highly alloyed austenitic stainless steel with very low carbon content, which has good corrosion resistance in dilute acids and is designed for environments with harsh corrosive conditions. It has high chromium content and sufficient nickel content, and the addition of copper makes it very resistant to acid, especially to chloride interstitial corrosion and stress corrosion cracking has a high degree of resistance to corrosion damage spots and cracks, pitting resistance is slightly better than other steel grades, with good workability and weldability. The solid solution state is non-magnetic.
